Each side is made in Bangladesh from reclaimed cotton saris and features a different fabric. It takes hours of careful hand stitching in even and straight rows with six layers of vintage saris to create this beautiful piece of work. This ancient craft of Kantha stitching has meant many saris have been repurposed over the generations rather than end up in a landfill. We think Basha's artistry is some of the best in its region!

The fabric is recycled cotton, so it is very soft and snuggly, with the endearing signs of some fading. In thinning cotton areas, the tradition is to carefully sew apatch from the same sari over this portion, and each blanket may feature this craft.
